About the Role
Building lasting culinary partnerships – connecting exceptional chefs with kitchens where both can thrive.
This is launching an exciting new fresh food pub located on a working farm just outside Abergavenny. With a true field-to-fork ethos, my client grow our own fruit, vegetables, and rear our own meats and eggs on site. Set amidst beautiful countryside, the site also features a growing lodge park and a wedding/events venue.
The Role:
We’re seeking a passionate and driven Head Chef to lead the kitchen at this newly acquired start-up pub. You’ll have the rare opportunity to work with produce straight from the fields, design seasonal menus, and build a strong kitchen team from the ground up.
With a BRAND NEW Kitchen from August, this truly is a one off role with everything to gain.
This is a unique opportunity for a chef who values provenance, sustainability, and creativity in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute fresh, seasonal menus using on-site farm produce.
Manage kitchen operations including stock, cost control, hygiene, and staff training.
Collaborate with farm and events teams to support weddings and lodge dining.
Lead and inspire a small, passionate team in a dynamic and growing environment.
As a startup this could be challenging across all areas of the kitchen, so a carefully planned menu and well laid out floor plan will help you massively.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience as Head Chef or Senior in a fresh food environment.
Passionate about farm-to-fork dining and sustainability, that can work with growers to develop produce.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Comfortable in a start-up setting with a hands-on approach. So expect to build something unique, but from the ground up individually.
Perks:
Unique working environment on a beautiful working farm, with lodges.
Creative freedom with hyper-local ingredients.
Opportunities to grow with the business. Which includes commission based incentives to grow with the venue and take real ownership
With a second venue in less than a year planned, this is a progressive role to be multi site Head Chef in a year managing both venues and overseeing menu and growth in both venues and farm.
Live in is also available to settle and support the right Chef.
