About the Role
Building lasting culinary partnerships – connecting exceptional chefs with kitchens where both can thrive.
We're looking for an exceptional Head Chef to join us on an exciting journey.
This is an independent fresh food venue that's been open for just 18 months, and while it's made an incredible start, it's only just getting going. This is an opportunity to become part of something with genuine ambition—not to maintain someone else's vision, but to help shape it.
The food offer is simple, honest and ingredient-led. We offer a daily changing menu of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts, driven by the best produce available. You won't find burgers, microwaves or freezer-to-fryer shortcuts here. Every plate is cooked with purpose, creativity and respect for the ingredients.
With a simple 3 rules; Local | Fresh | Seasonal
Searching for a passionate foodie who loves creating memorable dining experiences. Someone who gets excited by seasonal produce, enjoys writing menus, inspiring a small team and continually evolving what goes on the plate, with immediate guest feedback and banter.
You'll work closely with the owner, sharing ideas, developing menus and helping establish the reputation as one of the area's must-visit dining destinations. This isn't a corporate kitchen with endless layers of management—it's an intimate setting where your creativity, leadership and personality will have a real impact every single day, with a feeling of achievement at the end of every shift over a drink as a team.
On a personal level - this is a venue and culture, I would want to operate in, they just have an edge you dont see everywhere.
We're looking for someone who:
Lives and breathes fresh, seasonal food.
Has experience leading a professional kitchen.
Loves creating regularly changing menus.
Understands food cost, GP and kitchen organisation without compromising quality.
Leads by example and develops those around them.
Wants to build something they're genuinely proud to put their name to.
What we offer:
The chance to shape the food offering from the ground up.
Creative freedom to develop seasonal menus.
A close working relationship with an ambitious owner who values ideas and collaboration.
A supportive, independent environment where quality comes before volume.
The opportunity to become a key part of a business with exciting long-term ambitions.
Competitive salary based on experience, plus the chance to grow with the business. Typical £3 per hour tronc on top of salary too.
If you're looking for another job, this probably isn't it. Just dont say putting the feelers out...
If you're looking for the opportunity to leave your mark, build a reputation and create a destination restaurant in one of the most beautiful and unique locations in Herefordshire, we'd love to hear from you.
Culture remains a high priority for this client, some required deliverables, while important its a top mark for the team that when in work it just clicks.
