NEW - Head Chef, London

Notting Hill, London, UK

Job Type

Full Time - Permanent

Place of Work

On Site Only

About the Role

Building lasting culinary partnerships – connecting exceptional chefs with kitchens where both can thrive.

The Chef Hub is working with a seriously exciting, independent food and music-led venue in Notting Hill, bringing together authentic modern kebabs, fresh small plates and a unique German-meets-Turkish influence. Think beautifully prepared fresh food, quality ingredients, bold flavours, modern techniques and a menu designed to work just as well with a cold beer as it does alongside the soundtrack from a live DJ.

We're looking for a Chef who wants to be part of something a little different — someone who loves fresh food, enjoys a busy kitchen and understands that great hospitality is about the whole experience, not just what leaves the pass.

This isn't your standard kebab shop.

THE FOOD

The menu takes inspiration from Turkish and German kebab culture and brings it into a modern, small-plates setting.

Expect:

Modern, authentic kebabs
Freshly prepared small plates
Charcoal, grilled and roasted elements
Turkish-inspired flavours and techniques
German influences and European ingredients
Fresh salads, breads, pickles, sauces and accompaniments
Seasonal produce
Food designed for sharing
Plenty of flavour, texture and personality to match the soundtrack

The venue is deliberately informal, energetic and community-focused, with food sitting at the heart of the experience.

THE ROLE

As Head Chef, you'll work closely with the senior team and junior chefs to deliver consistently excellent food across a busy service.

You'll be involved in:
Hands on, daily preparation and mise en place
Cooking and plating dishes to a high standard
Working across different sections of the kitchen
Supporting the preparation of kebabs, small plates, sauces, salads and accompaniments
Maintaining excellent food quality and presentation
Following food safety and hygiene standards
Keeping your section organised and service-ready
Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy periods
Contributing ideas and enthusiasm to a constantly evolving food offering
Clear communication and training to junior chefs and front of house
Menu development / Margin controls, / Labour controls and business growth - All part of KPI's for bonus

This is a kitchen where freshness, consistency and flavour matter.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for a Head Chef who:
Has previous experience in a quality restaurant or fresh-food kitchen
Is confident working in a busy service
Has a genuine passion for fresh, ingredient-led food
Understands good prep and organisation
Takes pride in presentation and consistency
Can work calmly under pressure
Is a positive team player
Wants to learn and develop
Has an interest in Middle Eastern, Turkish, German or modern European food
Doesn't take themselves too seriously!
Vibe, and culture fit, are a priority to style of food and people focus
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who gets the vibe.

This is a social, energetic venue where food, music and community come together. The right person will enjoy being part of that rather than simply turning up, cooking and going home.

THE VENUE
Based in Notting Hill, this is a neighbourhood venue with a strong identity and a genuinely social atmosphere.
The kitchen is surrounded by music, DJs and a lively crowd, with the food and hospitality designed to be enjoyed as part of the overall experience.
It's independent, creative and refreshingly different.

If you're looking for a kitchen that feels more like a community, food and music project than a traditional restaurant brigade, this could be right up your street.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?
Full-time position
Opportunity to work with a genuinely distinctive food concept
Development within an ambitious independent venue
A creative and supportive kitchen environment
Music-led, social working environment / community hub
Opportunity to contribute ideas and develop with the business
£70,000 Starting salary / £10,000 yearly bonus subject to KPI's paid quarterly
2 days off per week typical 50hr week

If you're a Chef looking for something different in London and the idea of fresh food, modern kebabs, small plates, great music and a proper neighbourhood vibe sounds like your kind of kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.
