Owned and lead by former Michelin couple at the highest level offering a more casual dining experience in a stunning environment. Who are looking for a Sous Chef to join and bolster the team of 5.

A gorgeous Cotswolds period style pub with rooms, that offers the locals something exceptional without ego, just a great dining experience.
While they are keen to land a passionate cook with the right positive outlook on food with a "can do" attitude, they are more than willing to support, develop and train on all sections in a 3 month rotation, that could be open to progress their career if they plan to stay planted and want to come to work with a willing open mind;

What you'll do
To build relationships with the team front of back of house is vital, as Sous, your role is to replicate the Head Chef in deliverables, with people and menu quality. this includes supporting pastry!
Ensure food is prepared and served according to company specification with reference to times, temperatures, ingredients and presentations
Ensure correct portion control and minimum wastage in the handling of raw materials, in order to assist the Head Chef or kitchen supervisor in maintaining and improving the gross profits.
Assist as directed in the preparation and service of food in any section of the kitchen, as well as support the Head Chef with menu planning and creation input, so an open mind and creative aspect will be needed!
Clean as you go, before, during and after service to maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness standards within the site, including working on pot wash as and when required.
Ensure all duties are completed and handover fully before leaving at the end of your shift.
Make recommendation to improve standards and service within the site.
Work with all other team members and colleagues, create a successful and positive team which benefits the site’s performance, and the working conditions.
Follow the kitchen cleaning schedule.
Work as part of a team, with integrity and without complacency

Whats on offer;
£38,000 basic salary around 45 hours per week, - typical 5 day working week, 3 full days two half days, with planning to progress to 4 on 3 off working pattern very soon.
Tronc lift of £5000 per year, free meals on shift.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Cheltenham GL54: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Experience:

Min 5 years of culinary experience, minimum 1 year as Sous will be required

Casual, volume experience

1AA Rosette experience

Passion for teamwork, commitment and growth,


Licence/Certification:

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (required)

H&S level 2 (required)

Allergen awareness training (required)
