6 Months, 6 Lessons...

6 Things I’ve Learned About Running My Own Business, In 6 Months (with a Side of Chaos)

1. You Become a Full-Time Content Chef (Minus the Hat, Plus the Stress)

Writing blog posts is like prepping a 7-course meal with no sous-chef in sight. You thought you'd just share a recipe or two… now you’re knee-deep in SEO, keyword stuffing like it’s a Christmas turkey, and wondering if "sautéed salmon strategies" is a viable blog title.

2. "Just Write About Your Passion" They Said. They Lied.

Turns out, writing passionately about food and business is only half the battle. The other half is resisting the urge to write entirely in food puns. (Guilty. I might’ve called one post a “sizzling success.” Sorry not sorry.

3. Tech Gremlins Are Real. They Live in Your Website.

One minute The Chef Hub is a sleek, delicious-looking site. Next minute? Fonts are doing the Macarena, images won’t load, and you’ve Googled “why is my site possessed” at 2AM. And don't get me started on plugin updates—they're the culinary equivalent of setting the oven to self-destruct.

4. Ghosting Is the New Normal — Clients and Candidates Alike...!

I’ve been ghosted more times than a bad Tinder date. One minute a client’s raving about how perfect The Chef Hub is, the next? Radio silence. Poof. Same with candidates: enthusiastic at hello, MIA by the interview. I’m starting to wonder if I should offer an exorcism service alongside recruitment.

5. Analytics Make You Feel Like Sherlock Holmes (But with More Tears)

Ah, the joy of reading bounce rates and click-throughs like they’re cryptic clues in a culinary crime novel. “Why did no one click on the ‘Ultimate Guide to Sourdough Starters’?! It had a pun in the title!”

6. Your To-Do List Breeds Overnight

You cross one thing off and three more appear, like gremlins fed after midnight. One day you’re writing a blog, the next you’re troubleshooting an inbox issue, chasing invoices, updating job ads, replying to DMs, and wondering when exactly you became your own HR, marketing, sales, tech support, and occasional therapist. All for the love of food and staffing, right?

Happy 6 months anniversary to me!

Oh, and Ive a few roles on my website, check them out!
