15,000 Steps of Purpose: A Day with Burnt Chef Project Ambassadors at Manchester Central
There’s something special about walking side by side with people who just get it. This week, 20 of the Northern Region’s Burnt Chef Project Ambassadors took to the floors of the Manchester Central Convention Centre — not just racking up steps (15,000 by some counts!) — but building something deeper: common ground.
From chefs to GMs, restaurateurs to sales and development managers, and front-of-house to hospitality legends who’ve seen every corner of the industry, we gathered not just for an event, but for connection. In an industry often marked by long hours, burnout, and invisible battles, this day was about breaking that cycle — together.
The convention centre buzzed with energy as we sampled incredible food from up-and-coming innovators and trusted staples alike. Artisanal beverages flowed (the good kind — no hangovers here), while stories, laughs, and some deeply honest conversations circled the room. No titles, no hierarchy, just humans united by hospitality and a shared commitment to mental health and well-being.
At its core, this wasn’t just another trade show visit. It was a living, breathing example of what the Burnt Chef Project stands for: real support, real connection, and changing the culture of hospitality from the inside out.
The Great Northern events have always been a highlight, but this one hit differently. Maybe it was the camaraderie. Maybe it was the sense that change isn’t just coming — it’s already here. Or maybe it was just 20 legends walking in the same direction, one step at a time.
Thank you to all the The Burnt Chef Project® ambassadors who came we had a blast 💥
And make a mental note now, we WILL have a stand next year, and cant wait to see you all there!
Big love x
