The Trafford Centre’s newly renovated Eastern Garden in the Upper Orient is now a vibrant dining hub featuring some of Greater Manchester’s best independent restaurants!
The old Orient food court in the Trafford Centre had long begun to show its age—tired furnishings, worn surfaces, and dim lighting gave the space a dated and gloomy feel that no longer matched the centre's vibrant atmosphere. It lacked the energy and comfort expected in such a high-traffic, social hub. In contrast, the recent renovation has transformed the space into a bright, modern destination. With sleek finishes, improved lighting, and a refreshed layout, the revitalised Orient now feels contemporary and inviting, offering a far more enjoyable environment for visitors to relax, dine, and socialise.
Opening up this bright space with a stunning blossom canopy overhead is quite something - really modernising the day shopper experience and elevating the evening dining vibe.
• Nichi 🍣🔥 – A modern Japanese-Peruvian eatery offering sushi, live robata grilling, and an exclusive omakase experience, led by a former Nobu chef. I cant wait to get to eat here!
• Hello Oriental 🥢🍜 – Serving over 100 East Asian street-food dishes, from dim sum to Cantonese roast meats, with a full kids’ menu.
• Chit ‘n’ Chaat 🌶️🍛 – Authentic Indian street food with Indo-Chinese flavors, bringing bold spices and vibrant dishes.
• Blanchflower 🍰☕ – Artisan bakery and coffee shop known for handmade bread, cakes, and seasonal treats, all crafted locally. I love the Alty/home of Blanchflower, and so cant wait for this to open - "Traff" desperately needs a great coffee and bakehouse!
Not to mention livening up just nearby to this is the gorgeous looking Itsu which opened recently, and even noticed that "Est" has had a little makeover too, certainly not before time…
I dont often shop or dine at @thetraffordcentre but with the little touches they had added, and encouraged local brands to add in impulse cake/sushi/bake stalls in the isles its certainly starting to come back to its wow in the North status.
Now, where to get a coffee at this hour… ☕️ #shoplocal #traffordcentre #Blanchflower #ChitnChat #Nici #moretocome
